Staples agreed to settle in the amount of $42 million for numerous wage-and-hour class actions based on its misclassification of assistant store managers as exempt.  After several years of litigation and 12 class actions filed in various districts, the settlement resolves claims going back to 2002.  The settlement has been approved by the parties and is subject to the approval of the district court judge.
