Should I Accept This Severance Package?

Should I accept the severance package offered by my employer?  This is a question that you should discuss in detail with an employment attorney in order to weigh the rights you are waiving and the benefits you are receiving.  For example, three weeks of pay may not be worth agreeing to a 6 month non-compete.  Therefore, it is important to discuss all the details of your severance package, the benefits you will receive, the rights you will waive and the new contractual requirements you are required to comply with after signing the severance agreement.  Sometimes you may be giving up a lot more than you are receiving.
