Jury awards ex-Middlesex County sheriff’s investigator $885K

sexual harassment settlementsA jury has returned a verdict of $885,000 in the case brought against Middlesex County by a retired sheriff’s officer.

Joseph Iko sued Middlesex County in civil court alleging that he was harassed by co-workers relentlessly while he was employed by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, where he had worked since 1992.

Iko’s attorneys, Paul Castronovo and Tom McKinney of Castronovo and McKinney LLC, said that the verdict shows the jury, which was composed of five women and three men, was “outraged” by the allegations.
